Key Makeup Artist

In 2010, after Micaela Blackwell had her daughter, she began to watch YouTube tutorials on things like how to apply makeup and special effects prosthetics. She bought all kinds of products and began practicing and experimenting with different techniques. In the beginning, she focused on Special FX makeup and mastering the art of prosthetics, recreating bruises, and wounds.

 

Micaela was afforded the opportunity to be able to utilize her newly acquired skills in a PSA titled “Bully Effect” written and produced by Devante Blackwell, the owner of Captivating Cinema. Following that, she was the Key Makeup Artist for another Captivating Cinema production titled“Alyssa’s Diary”. Those two productions sparked a new fire in her to pursue a career in the makeup industry even the more! In 2014, she was able to be a part of another production entitled “Redeeming the Time” which started out as a stage play, but was eventually enhanced into a full length feature film (scheduled to release in 2016). Micaela stated "Captivating Cinema has been an amazing experience and being able to work with such a humble, talented individual is inspiring and motivating at the same time!"

 

Captivating Cinema now uitlizes Micaela and the company she launched in 2013 for their diverse production needs. Her makeup company is titled Fancee Faces simply because she believes every woman is “fancee”, but should have the opportunity to feel EXTRA “fancee” every now and then. She now specializes in beauty makeup including bridal, prom, and natural every day looks. She is constantly learning new things and techniques and looking forward to whatever God has in store for her in the future.
